I work across product definition, architecture, CAD, mechanisms, analysis, prototypes, manufacturing, and validation because the most important product decisions rarely stay inside one mechanical feature.
Career path
I earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University in 2018 and joined Viasat that July. During five years in space-systems and advanced-communications R&D, I developed high-reliability hardware under coupled structural, thermal, vibration, modal, packaging, manufacturing, procurement, documentation, and cross-functional interface constraints. That environment made explicit assumptions, reviewable analysis, configuration discipline, and test boundaries normal parts of the work.
Beginning in 2023, I have also supported independent product-development programs across consumer, prosumer, ergonomic, home-improvement, electromechanical, industrial, and precision-mechanical hardware. The products vary, but the engineering pattern is consistent: understand the user and business need, find the physics and interfaces that control the result, build an editable definition, learn from hardware, and prepare the next team to make a defensible decision.
Since September 2025, I have served as Senior Mechanical Engineer, New Product Development at Nordson Electronics Solutions while continuing select independent work. I lead at the program level and remain hands-on in the CAD, calculations, design reviews, supplier questions, prototypes, drawings, and failure details that determine whether hardware can actually be built, tested, serviced, and improved. Current-employer programs and client-controlled details remain confidential.
Collaboration
I work directly with founders, industrial designers, electrical and software engineers, technicians, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, service, and leadership. I make interface and ownership boundaries explicit, translate competing constraints into a reviewable decision, and stay involved through the physical consequence of that decision.
